Revitalizing IWRM for the 2030 Agenda

Share news

The IWRM High Level Panel at the 8th World Water Forum in Brasilia organized by the WWC Task Force on IWRM launched a Challenge Paper on Revitalising IWRM for the 2030 Agenda.

The Paper contains Key Political messages that will trigger the revitalisation of IWRM to galvanise the required political support for action on SDG6, particularly SDG 6.5, as well as other water-related Targets. In particular, the messages frame IWRM as a dynamic, results-driven process that provides the spine for action on SDG6, including critical issues relating to e.g. urbanisation, finance and climate resilience, and recommendations on priority steps to be undertaken. The paper also identifies modalities for operationalising IWRM to achieve change on the ground at scale and that should be prioritised in programmes and investments for implementation of the SDGs.
