Youth Delegate
The World Water Council is committed to empowering the next generation of water leaders. The Youth Delegates Program ensures that young voices are represented in global water governance and decision-making processes. Appointed by the Council secretariat via an open application process, the selected Youth Delegates serve a three-year term, contributing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to global water challenges.
As per by-law 4.1.8 of the World Water Council:
“Youth Delegates are appointed by the Board after an open process of candidature and selection.
They are not required to pay membership fees and are not allowed to vote but may fully participate, as observers, in meetings. No more than four Youth Delegates will be named, following an open candidature process. The organisations to which they belong should be international and address youth and water issues. Delegates should be aged 18 to 35, and their nomination is valid for one mandate.”
